Project 3 (Scroll down for the pictures) The project was a house by the idyllic area of Potamos Liopetriou, right by the sea. The owners are not in Cyprus all the time and so they wanted something that would look good but require as little maintenance as possible. The main points to take into consideration were the proximity to the sea and the little surface soil of the area to be developed. The owners wanted the green that lawn offers but as they would not be present to take care of the lawn, we suggested arificial grass, which was accepted by the clients. The artificial grass was combined with grey and white gravel, something that offered a variation in ground color in the garden, as well as the required ground cover that would preserve moisture in the summer and prevent weed growth as much as possible. The plants that we decided to plant, after the client's approval, were: Syagrus romanzoffiana (Arecastrum, Queen palm), Phoenix roebellenii (Pygmy date palm). Beaucarnea recurvata (pony tail palm), Washingtonia filifera, Chamaerops humilis, Dypsis decaryi, various bushes and aromatic plants, geraniums, Nerium oleander, Cypressus sempervirens pyramidalis and cacti and succulents. A paved pathway crosses the garden leading to the sea.
